This year, the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation awarded three of its annual Outstanding Achievement Prizes to current and former NKI researchers.
Daniel C. Javitt, M.D., Ph.D., Director of Schizophrenia Research, was awarded the Lieber Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Schizophrenia Research; and Antigona Martinez, Ph.D., received the Maltz Prize for Innovative & Promising Schizophrenia Research.
In addition, Joseph LeDoux, Ph.D., founding director (now retired) of the NKI/NYU Emotional Brain Institute, is the recipient of the Goldman-Rakic Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Cognitive Neuroscience Research.
Selected by BBRF’s Scientific Council, the Foundation’s Outstanding Achievement Prizes honor scientists for their achievements in brain and behavior research. The awardees will be celebrated at the 2025 International Mental Health Research Symposium on October 24th, where they will give presentations on their work.
