Dr. Ayana Jordan Honored with Presidential Early Career Award

Ayana Jordan, M.D., Ph.D., has been awarded a prestigious Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on early-career scientists who show exceptional promise in their fields and demonstrate leadership in community outreach and mentorship. Dr. Jordan is a Research Psychiatrist in NKI’s Social Solutions & Services Research Division and the Barbara Wilson Associate Professor of Psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She also holds a faculty position in NYU’s Department of Population Health. Dr. Jordan’s research focuses on treatments for substance use disorders in underserved communities, and seeks out solutions for a more equitable healthcare system.
