Dr. Alldred is a research scientist in the Center for Dementia Research at NKI and a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She is interested in examining the onset of Alzheimer’s disease in patients with mild cognitive impairment or Down syndrome to determine early cellular alterations that may be responsive to intervention. Her investigations include using single cell and single population RNA-sequencing analysis, as well as other biochemical and cellular assays, to understand the mechanistic differences in cells vulnerable to degeneration in Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease.
