Russell Tobe, MD, serves as head of the Clinical Evaluation Center.  Dr. Tobe is a board certified adult psychiatrist as well as a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist.  He completed medical school at the University of Chicago and completed his adult psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center.  Dr. Tobe supervises a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, a psychiatric nurse, clinical evaluators, and research support assistants.  He is a scientific investigator on approximately 10 research studies involving understanding of neurobiology and brain development as well as treatment in numerous disorders including autism spectrum disorders. In addition to his role at NKI, he is a former President of the West Hudson Psychiatric Society and is a faculty member at Columbia University.
