Dr. Saito is a Research Scientist, Division of Analytical Psychopharmacology, at the Nathan Kline Institute and a Research Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, New York University School of Medicine. He has extensive experience in research on biological functions of lipids in the nervous system. Previously, he served as a Research Associate, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, at Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine. He then was appointed Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery and Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Stritch School of Medicine. Prior to this, he was a Research Associate, Department of Biochemistry at the Pennsylvania State University Medical Center. He was a post doctoral fellow in the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry, University of Tokyo in 1973-1974 and then proceeded to be a member of the research staff at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute for Neurosciences. He then joined Pennsylvania State University Medical Center as a research associate.
