Kristin Trautman, LCSW, is a social worker and research scientist with 30 years of research experience. She received her MSSW from Columbia University. Ms. Trautman has been pivotal in the understanding of factors around adolescent suicide and identifying factors for prevention. She has investigated genetic factors in the development of mental illness. Ms. Trautman has helped create widely utilized research assessments for substance use disorders. Ms. Trautman has specific research expertise in the development and use of web-based platforms to improve mental health awareness and information accessibility to children and adolescents nation-wide. Ms. Trautman is a community outreach liaison with specific emphasis on community-based populations, overseeing outreach efforts across the lifespan. Ms. Trautman also oversees community-based educational programs such as the NKI Brain Day and the internship programs.
